31 Days of Make Believe: Meet Matt, Day 16
Meet Matt Dionne, the lone man (so far anyway) in the 31 Days of Make Believe BlogParty. If you ever see "Khoen Navish" online it could very well be Matt. He says he likes the name because it is a mythical, magical, ordinary looking, metal from which a powerful sword was forged.
In general terms, Matt blogs on Matt Dionne about God, relationships, religion, and life. More specifically, he blog about things that happen in his life and things that matter to him that happen in the world.
*Now for the Make Believe Part*
What did you always want to be when you grew up as a kid? Why?
I always wanted to be a scientist. I like learning and discovering new things and ideas.
What is your favorite fairy tale and why?
My favorite fairy tale would have to be The Emperor's New Clothes. Truth be told it is probably considered more a fable than a fairy tale but I like the lesson it tells. The truth in this fable is not only one that is still true today but also one that can and should be applied. There are a few lessons to be learned. One is to be weary of greedy and deceitful people who play on your ego and emotions. The second is to use your head and be smart with your dealings. And third is the folly of pride. The king's pride is what lead him to walk the streets of his kingdom naked.
It is the night of the big ball. The one you are destined to marry is among the crowd, so you’ve dressed your best. Describe your outfit.
Well first let me further set the scene. The ball would obviously be held in the kingdom by the sea (where I would live) and would be set right on the shore. The theme would be light and fun with lots of dancing. I would be wearing a calm blue collared shirt with khaki trousers and sandals.
Your life has been selected to be featured in an upcoming fairy tale style movie. What is the title and premise?
The title of my fairy tale would be "Corporate Escape". The premise would be about the struggle one man faces in the face of a huge bloated corporation, his use of fair management skills and logical business practices, and eventual take over of the corporation where he then donates 50% of the company's profits to charity.
You need to be rescued. Where are you and what is going on around you? Describe the scene as your hero approaches.
I would be at a corporate business party stuck talking to boring corporate executives about their bloated and wasteful lifestyles. Just when I am about to loose my cool and admonish the group for making the world worse off then when they came into it my hero arrives. She is my wife who from across the room saw my angst and casually walked over (in the classy style that is all her own) and mentioned to me there was some people she would like me to meet. Effectively excusing me from the conversation and the ultimate "open mouth, insert foot" moment. Which would have eventually lead to my resignation and failure of the long term goal (Take over of the corporation where then I would donate 50% of the company's profits to charity.)
