31 Days of Make Believe: Meet Ivana, Day 25

Ivana is best known (including to me) as Ivanhoe. She says it’s her nickname. It was given to her by her ex-mother-in-law, because she was loyal to her king (ex-husband) even if the times were rough (just like the famous Ivanhoe from the book by Sir Walter Scott). It also has a part of her name in it Ivan(a)-hoe.

Her blog, Communique, is a mixed bag. Ivana explains that it's a "little bit about my life, my trips, my home country, my new country, some sports, some entertainment, my photographs and memes."

*Now for the Make Believe Part*

What did you always want to be when you grew up as a kid? Why?

I wanted to be a Vet. I always loved animals. But not the science classes, so the dream never materialized.

What is your favorite fairy tale and why?

I love fairy tales, so it’s hard to pick just one. Ok I must say The Cinderella. Why? It must be the story itself. The good winning over the evil. It does not happen in real life that much.

It is the night of the big ball. The one you are destined to marry is among the crowd, so you’ve dressed your best. Describe your outfit.

It would have to be long, light green (my favorite color, and goes well with my eyes, too ;o) ball gown. It would have an empire waistline, long bell sleeves and would be made from satin or velvet (or both).

Your life has been selected to be featured in an upcoming fairy tale style movie. What is the title and premise?

I would have to steal this one from a fairy tale movie already made in the eighties in Czech Republic. It’s my favorite remake of a fairy tale (ever!) called “Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella”. It was filmed in Czech country side, no tricks or computers used. Just breathtaking! It traditionally runs on Czech TV every Christmas Eve. I probably watched it over one hundred times :o)

You need to be rescued. Where are you and what is going on around you? Describe the scene as your hero approaches.

I would be locked up in a highest tower of a castle. My hero would come on a white horse (of course!) and rescue me by fighting a dragon and a fire. I would watch it all from a small window in my room and then fell in arms of my prince as he kicks in the door, secured by seven locks.
