Your website is (and should be) your number one marketing and sales tool. Unfortunately, many websites are treated as “one and done” projects where they get set up and then promptly forgotten about. But that can all change in 6 short weeks…
Week One: The Home Page & Analytics
When you look at your home page, do you smile? Do you have total confidence that each and every visitor will know exactly what you do and what you offer? In this first week, we talk about the all-important home page and what marketing elements are absolutely essential if you want to capitalize on your incoming web traffic. We’ll also be making sure you have your Analytics set up so that you’ll be able to measure exactly what your site is doing (and what is and isn’t working).
Week Two: The About Page
One of the most overlooked pages on a website! Your About Page is just as important as your home page. This is where you can tell your story, reveal your character and, most importantly, truly connect with your potential customers. During the second week, we will dissect the most important facets of your About Page and what needs to be on there as well as the need for testimonials.
Week Three: Your Services Pages
Your services pages provide the real glimpse into what you are offering to your clients. This is where you will lay out the work you do and how you do it. Many service pages are incomplete, vague and used as a potential catch-all for industry jargon (that half of your clients don’t understand anyway). Week three is all about structuring your service pages so that you can clean up what you already have and build a template for future pages as you add offerings to your repertoire.
Week Four: Blogging & Content Resources
It’s no secret that Content is King. And the most effective websites have some content available to users that is beyond their home and about pages. But it doesn’t need to be complicated or messy or life-consuming. I will show you how to build effective content that your customers will be actively searching for and how it ultimately becomes a huge time saver for you!
Week Five: Social Media
Most businesses have at least one social media account that they are actively managing. We will be exploring how to integrate social media with your website in week five, both in linking to your accounts, the wording you use on your social media profiles and using social channels to promote your valuable web content.
Week Six: The Freebie
If you want to build your email list, one of the most effective ways to do this is to build some kind of freebie that you can use as a free gift when someone signs up for your email list. In Week 6, we’ll talk about how to figure out what kind of freebie you should have and where you should offer it on your website for maximum exposure.
